VERTICAL VIDEO

The following examples show a combination of relevant day-of news and special coverage.

PEPSI TRUCK CRASH

I coordinated multiple vertical videos the morning of this accident, but this one was the most visual. We did not have a photographer to send with our reporter, so this was a critical element to have for our morning coverage to show our presence on the scene.

The death of Jesse Jackson was a big breaking national story and we had a unique opportunity to localize it. I pulled archive video of his visits to Vermont and his visits with Bernie Sanders to compliment a story I wrote about Jackson's influence over Sanders' politics.

WORLD CUP OPPORTUNITY

I wrote a story prior to this after news broke that Lake Placid would host the aerials world cup. It was a last-minute change after unseasonable weather out west forced the event to move.

The article picked up a lot of traffic, so I decided to follow up with a look at Lake Placid's extensive history hosting competitive winter sports. I interviewed a spokesperson at the Olympic Regional Development Authority for this story to air on TV and on socials.

BURLINGTON SEA CAVES

Burlington, VT has rare caves that are only accessible when a local pond freezes in the winter.

It's a story we cover every year when it's open for winter use and it felt like a natural one to adapt for social media.

I collaborated with my reporter for this one, using his footage from the TV story to create a shorter nat package for socials.
